For the driver, the following documents are necessary:
- Valid passport and visa (see above)
- International driving licence corresponding to category of vehicle.
For the vehicle, the following documents are necessary:
- International vehicle registration certificate
- Green international insurance card
- Civil liability insurance (if necessary, it is possible to take out an insurance policy at the border)
For the passengers, the following documents are necessary:
- List of passengers
- Valid passport and visa (see above). The "statistical card" which is handed out on entry into the country must be kept during the whole stay in Bulgaria as it also serves as the exit authorisation. Without it, it is impossible to leave the country, even if the passport is in order. An AIDS test is compulsory for people staying longer than 30 days.
