Programme Phare - Transborder cooperation with Greece
The projects negotiated for joint funding involve the upgrading of international transit routes to the existing cross border check points located on both sides of the border with Greece (sections of the Cross Border Corridors No 4,8,9 & 10) and the construction of the approaches to the three new Cross Border Check Points (CBCP).
Completed projects, projects under construction:
Lot 3 Е79 Rehabilitation, strengthening and improvement of Dupnitsa – Kulata section, FM 1998
The project includes rehabilitation, strengthening and improvement of road E79 in the section Dupnitsa - Usoika village and Mursalevo village – Blagoevgrad – Sandanski – Levunovo village with total length approximately 87 km, separated into 6 sections. Contracting company is Italian Todini Construzioni Generali. Supervisor is international joint venture Louis Berger/ Danish Road Directorate. The road construction works are completed.
Lot 5 Construction of approach road Gotse Delchev – Drama, FM 1998
The project consists of construction of a 13 km new road section including road intersections and equipment. Contracting company is Greek Proodeftiki/Atti-Kat. Supervisor is international joint venture Louis Berger/Danish Road Directorate. The road construction works are completed. The road will be put in operation after the construction of the tunnel at CBCP Ilinden.
Lot 4 Е80 Rehabilitation, strengthening and improvement of Harmanli – Svilengrad section, FM 1998
The project includes rehabilitation, strengthening and improvement of road E80 in the section Harmanli and CPCP Novo selo with total length 44 km in the direction of Trans European Corridors 4 and 9. Contracting company is Bulgarian joint venture “Glavbolgarstroi – E85”. Supervisor is international joint venture Louis Berger/ Danish Road Directorate. The road construction works are completed.
Lot 1 E 79 Daskalovo - Dupnitsa
The project includes section between road junction Daskalovo and Dupnitsa in the direction of Trans European Corridor 4 with total length 40 km. Construction works comprise: widening of 18 km section of road E79 by motorway carriageway width and rehabilitation of the existing road; rehabilitation of 22 km existing road. Contracting company is Bulgarian Bul Stroy Engineering. Supervisor is international joint venture Louis Berger/ Danish Road Directorate. The project is under construction.
Construction of approach road Podkova – CBCP Makaza, FM 2000
The cross border Makaza is the southest point of road I-5 (in the direction of Trans European Corridor 9) connected with the Greek road network. The project includes construction of a new 18 km section and a 2 km connection with the existing road. Contracting company is Turkish KISKA – TURAN. Supervisor is German company DIWI Consult. The project is under construction.
Construction of tunnel at CBCP Ilinden
The project comprises of 400 m road section and a tunnel with total length 150 m. The project is implemented by the scheme “Design - Construction”. Contracting company is Greek Proodeftiki/Atti-Kat.
E 79 Study and design of Sofia – CBCP Kulata Motorway
The project includes the following sections: Lulin Motorway – II-18 Sofia Ring road (Suhodol Village) – E79 road junction Daskalovo (18 km); Struma Motorway E79 km 284 - 439 road junction Daskalovo - CBCP Kulata (156 km). Contracting company is Italian SPEA Ingegneria Europea.
Programme Phare - Transborder cooperation with Romania
Rehabilitation of road II-29 in the section frontier with Republic of Romanian (Negru Voda) - General Toshevo, FM 2001
Euro 2,5 million are granted by Phare Programme and Euro 0,830 million are provided by the Bulgarian budget. The project envisages rehabilitation of the section Kardam border crossing point - General Toshevo with a total length about 18 km.
Contracting company is Bulgarian Avtomagistrali – Cherno more. Supervisor is Greek company ADD. The project is under construction.
Rehabilitation and partial reconstruction of road II-15 in the section Mizia – Oriahovo, FM 2002
Euro 2,475 million are granted by Phare Programme and Euro 0,825 million are Bulgarian contribution.
The project comprises rehabilitation and partial reconstruction of existing section Mizia to the ferry line Oriahovo - Beket of road II-15 with total length 16 km. The tender procedures for selecting Contractor and Supervisor were completed in February 2004.
Final construction of Silistra Ring road, FM 2003
Euro 3,750 million are granted by Phare Programme and Euro 1,250 million are provided by the Bulgarian budget.
The project comprises final construction of Silistra Ring road in direction of road II-21 Silistra – Ruse with total length 6 km. The entire project has been divided into three parts as the first and second stages are carried out with Road Executive Agency funds. Probable project start – end of 2004.
Programme Phare - Transborder cooperation with FYROM
It is envisaged a tender procedure for the rehabilitation of an existing 15 km section and a new 15 km section Strumiani - Klepalo in direction Berovo in FYROM (CBCP Klepalo).
